October netball has been great! We've been playing every Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays very religiously :) well done to all!!! Punctuality is also improving, starting at least at 630pm every session. We can brng this up a notch even more, so let's come on time so you get your money's worth.
November's session will be cut down to twice a week as courts has been booked by gov't depts. But we'll mae do with what we have okay. But you'll need to inform us if you're coming or not, so we wont get too many on one day. But as normal, we'll have BIBD ladies, Uni Utd and some rojaks playing on the two days that we have. We can accomodate a few more, but not more than a team or 7 peeps. So do inform us if you'll be dropping by.
So for November...
Just to reiterate Kitty's message post on November netball. She's booked the following:
Every Mondays at 6-8pm in JKR
(2nd, 9th, 16th, 23rd and 30th)
Every Fridays at 6-8pm in Kebajikan (outdoor court)
(6th, 13th, 20th and 27th)
note: if it is raining or looks like it's gonna rain, netball will automatically be cancelled

October Netball :)
Firstly,
Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri everyone! On behalf of all Netball Weekly-ers, mohon maaf & ampun for any salah/kekasaran bahasa or action.. And hope you've had a fruitful Ramadhan and happy raya! :)
So welcome back to netball.. I bet some of you are already itching to throw some balls around and get some shots in, and have a jolyl good laugh with all the girls.. and here's the october schedule!
Remember to inform us of any attendance or cancellations, that would really help so we wont have to wait forever/pay but not play. Also we welcome any feedback for November's bookings, eg. preferred day or time. We'll try to accomodate to majority's preference, with approval from JKR of course!
All courts are booked 6-8pm at JKR Sports Complex, please be punctual (6.15pm is okay, but not 7pm!). There's Burung Pingai mosque nearby for those who wish to do their prayers between games. Most of us do that anyways, that way we wont miss any solat. If you have any other Qs, I'll try my best to give the A's :)
So enough talking, let's start playing netball!!

With the help and initiative of Kitty, she has managed to secure us several JKR slots. Please note on the date and arrive on time to get enough game plays, do register as well. Thanks ya'll! :)

July Netball
Hello all! ;)
I regret to inform you all that wedid not manage to book courts for July, however we are still in the process of talking to the JKR guys about this. This was due to confusion on our booking being written in pencil and others thought it was not confirmed. I do apologize for this.
I will update you the soonest, do keep checking the website for any updates.
This Friday 26th June will be the last slot for June, so please register and arrive early so we can get the most out of the games. I'll be there to umpire the matches and ensure it goes as planned.
See you all at 6pm tomorrow! :)

Play and Pay - Breakin' it down!
Hi all,
To avoid the confusion of how the court is paid and all that. We've come up with a price system based on the number of teams that register and show up. This is so that you are prepared with the right amount of money each time you come and play.
As you all probably know, the courts at JKR cost $20 to use. The idea is to split this cost as evenly as we can amongst all teams. And by teams, I mean the team that you are assigned to during registration. Therefore, here is a price matrix on number of teams Vs how much the teams need to pay each, regardless of number of players in the team. Please be punctual as you will lose out if you arrive late and obviously there wouldnt be any discounts on late arrival. Sorry :)
2 teams - $10 each
3 teams - $7 each
4 teams - $5 each
So before the end of the matches, you should provide this to either one of the Netball Weekly girls, Ina or Ani, and they'll be more than happy to receive the cash hehehe! Obviously to pass to me because I pre-pay the courts :) not to go jalan-jalan makan-makan DQ ice cream with! Oops! hehehe! aku tu!
So hope this clarifies payment issues :) enjoy June netball!

First Day on the League
Morning all,
Yesterday saw 15 players on the court, with one one substitute to blow the centre pass whistle *thanks to Maming too*
My apologies for not brining the ball and bibs, as I didn't have my car with me (emergency). I will bring them the next time we play.
Thanks to all the ladies who came for their patience and stamina and sportsmanship and positive attitude, contributing to our strenous netball game :) i'm pretty sure everyone got burnt out and enjoyed the netball for the evening.
Through discussions with some of the girls yesterday, we've decided that, along with inviting random people who register online to play, we will also have an invited team that "The Registered Team" will play against. I am trying to get some games up and running with several teams already,but if you are in contact with any other teams and can arrange a game, please revert them to me or this website.
Again we will stress the point that we are open to anyone who would like to play but do not have access to a team or a court. Please do join our pledge to provide this opportunity for anyone and everyone interested. Besides, improvement is a matter of personal initiative, and you will improve tremendously with each effort :)
Hope to see everyone sign up for the next games. We will be punctual, I will have the balls, bibs and whistle to play. Let's hope not, but if we DO have to wait, we will warm up and probably do some drills just for fun.

Counting on every single player
Hi everyone,
What a good monday morning it is :)
The league should kick off this week, but as we have seen, the registered numbers aren't enough to confirm the booking of the courts. We need at least 14 for each match day ($1.50 each person) to be able to play all positions.
Please be informed that payment for JKR courts can only be made on each match day:
8:00 - 11:30 am
1:30 - 2:30 pm
I'll have until lunchtime to get enough people for today's matches. If we don't get enough today, then the next chance to play will be wednesday... So if you want to play and haven't registered, please do so at your leisure on the chatbox (right) or here under the comments page. So hope to get a few more players for today :)
Or if you have any suggestions to get more people to play, that would be great!

Weekly Netball League Proposal
Hi Everyone!
As you probably know, we have 3 slots per week in May at JKR for netball. I would like to propose a weekly league where we can play with other people who have similar interests: to play netball! This proposal would hopefully aim to utilise these JKR slots properly, without any confusion or any overwhleming surplus of teams scrounging to play even for just 5 minutes :s kesian bah... So...
I've set up this blog to invite discussions on whether it would be feasible for us to have a weekly netball league. Please feel free to comment and provide feedback for how we can best bring about this proposal, if you agree that is :) Thanks for your input!
Objectives of weekly league:
Match days: 6-8pm at JKR on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays
14 minutes per match, changing sides at midpoint with no break
Teams are named 1, 2, 3 and 4
2 whistles 2 balls 28 players 1 Referee per team (to umpire the games, have a link to netball rules on blog) 2 Coordinators per matchday (to make sure the next team playing is ready 5 mins before) 2 Score keeper per team (to keep score of the matches) 2 Time keeper per team (to time the matches) Timer Registration name & team number Score sheet Team ballot (11 ballots for the 7 positions, referee, timekeeper, scorekeeper, coordinator) Time table & Roster
The items (balls, bibs, whistles, scoresheet, timer, team ballot, etc) will be provided at no extra cost. Though if you wish to donate items, that would be great! Otherwise, all you need to do is register, come to JKR, tire yourself out with at least 45 minutes of netball and pay $1 (unless you have additional tasks).
Ani & I have made some tests (though it is based on our body weight and level of workout intensity), netball will burn at least 500 calories per hour... and that is not including the warm-up and doing the league chores!
So let's keep playing netball!

- Provision for 1.5 hours per match day, 4 teams playing total of 6 matches
- Payment is $1 per person payable upon registration
- Those with additional tasks (eg. referee, timekeeper, scorekeeper, coordinator) do not need to pay
